Start time for the concert is 7:30pm.

ABA Festival of Bands

We have received our Date for the ABA Festival of Bands.
It will be Wednesday May 17, 2017 in Red Deer Alberta.

ADmazing Books are now available

To replace last years SUTP books we now have ADmazing Books available for sale!

Poinsettias!

The music program has started our first poinsettia campaign for fundraising.

It will start from today and run until November 23, 2016.

Delivery of the plants is planned for December 6, 2016.

Details will be sent home with students shortly.

Bottle drive Day!

Today was are bottle drive!

Thank you to all the students that came out to help collect bottles!
Special thank you to all the parent support, we could not do it without you!

Concert date is now November 29, 2016

The day of the concert is now moved to Tuesday November 29, 2016.

Band Bottle Drive

Our fist bottle drive is Saturday October 15 from 9:00am until 12:00pm.

We need students to deliver flyers before the 15th and to help in the neighborhood to collect the bottles on Saturday!

Visit from Dr. Dale Lonis

Grade 7 to 9 music students and Mr. Irwin had the opportunity to work Dr. Dale Lonis this past week at Elboya. Dr. Dale Lonis has spent a lifetime leading others by conducting, coaching and teaching. Building on his considerable talents as a performing musician and athlete, he became a highly successful public school music teacher, coach, university professor, and international symphonic conductor. He then pursued his passion for the psychology of learning and musical practice earning a Doctoral Degree with extensive research in how humans learn and perceive the world around them. 

Students enjoyed the time with "Dr. Dale" and had very positive feedback on this wonderful experience.

Possible date change to Winter concert

Our Winter Concert May be moved from December 1 to November 29.
When the dates are confirmed a letter will be sent home.

Important rehearsal information

Rehearsal Schedule for Elboya Bands 2016 - 2017.

Concert Band – Tuesday mornings 7:45am – 8:45am - starting September 13, 2016

Jazz Band – Friday mornings 7:45am – 8:45am – starting September 16, 2016

8 and 9 Sectionals – Monday Mornings 7:45am – 8:45am – September TBD

Grade 7 band – Wednesday Mornings 7:45am – 8:45am – September 21 or 28 start

Band clinics and extra rehearsals will normally be held on Fridays starting about 2:00pm

Grade 5 and 6 students do not rehearse out of scheduled timetable.

All students from 5-9 can come to the music room for help if needed.

5 and 6 students must obtain permission the day before the would like to come in for help.

All rehearsals will end in the first week of June.
